What is within walking distance
The DLF Phase 1 market on Arjun Marg has 15-20 shops covering groceries, pharmacy, kirana, a small bakery, one or two mid-range restaurants and a couple of cafés. It handles daily needs but is not a destination market. Sikanderpur metro station is 10-12 minutes walk from most of Blocks A through D, connecting to the Yellow Line for Delhi and the Rapid Metro for Golf Course Road.
Beyond the immediate neighbourhood, walking gives out. Cyber Hub is 25-30 minutes on foot via unfriendly road crossings — take a cab. Two Horizon Centre on Golf Course Road is 20-25 minutes walk from the southern blocks, but the route crosses two major arteries. Where Phase 1 wins on walkability is within itself: the tree-lined streets, the block layout, the parks scattered between blocks make an evening stroll genuinely pleasant, which is not something you can say for most of Gurugram.
DLF Phase 1 versus DLF Phase 2
Phase 2, immediately south, is denser and more commercial — it includes chunks of the DLF Cyber City periphery and the Sector 25 corridor. Phase 2 has more hotels, more restaurants, and closer proximity to Cyber Hub. Phase 1 has more trees, quieter streets, and a stronger residential character. For a two-night business trip, Phase 2 makes more sense. For a week-long stay where you value calm, Phase 1 wins.
The other calculation is metro access. Phase 1 is closer to Sikanderpur — the Yellow Line/Rapid Metro interchange. Phase 2 is closer to Cyber City metro, on the Rapid Metro only. If Delhi trips are part of your week, Phase 1's Sikanderpur access saves a change and 10-15 minutes each way. If your week is Gurugram-only, Phase 2's tighter proximity to Cyber Hub wins.
