February in Gurugram: the cheap week you would not have guessed
Clear February morning on a Gurugram service lane with joggers
The last ten days of February are the year's best value at four-star tier, with room rates 30% below March and weather 4°C cooler than April.
The month everyone underestimates
February gets no attention in Gurugram travel writing because nothing dramatic happens: no major festival, no monsoon, no summer, no wedding season peak. That is exactly why it works. Daytime highs run 20-26°C, overnight lows 8-12°C, humidity is low, fog risk drops sharply after the first week, and the sun is out most days. It is genuinely pleasant walking weather, the pools are just about swimmable at the five-stars from mid-month, and rooftop dinners work with a light jacket.
Meanwhile, corporate travel is at its winter baseline (not the March year-end surge yet), the wedding tail from January ends by 10 February, and Valentine's Day produces a brief blip but nothing structural. From roughly 15 to 28 February, Gurugram is quiet, comfortable, and cheap. If someone said they had a week off but no strong preference for when, this would be my recommendation over October and March.
The Valentine's week bump: 12-15 February
Valentine's Day on 14 February 2026 is a Saturday, which makes the surrounding week a hotel-industry marketing event. Every five-star and four-star runs a couple's package — dinner, breakfast in bed, spa credit, a rose petal turndown that housekeeping despises. Prices for the Friday and Saturday nights (13-14 February) sit 25-35% above the surrounding weekend. Trident Gurgaon, The Oberoi Gurgaon, Grand Hyatt Gurgaon and The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences all sell out their signature suites by early February.
Sector 29 restaurants pack out on the 14th; expect to book two weeks in advance for anywhere with a rooftop. Kingdom of Dreams runs a special romantic evening show. Farm stays around Sohna and Manesar (Bliss In The Woods by VEO Part of StayVista, The Leela's Farm) charge weekend uplifts of 40-50%. If you are not travelling as a couple, avoid 13-14 February — you will pay a premium for atmosphere you did not book. If you are, book by mid-January.
The 15-28 February trough
Once the Valentine's weekend clears, Gurugram enters a demand hole. Wedding season has ended. School holidays have not begun (Indian schools break early March through late April). Corporate travel is steady but not surging. The result is the year's best rate map at the four-star tier. Radisson Gurugram Sohna Road City Center, Holiday Inn Gurugram Sector 90 by IHG, Hilton Gurugram Baani City Centre and DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Gurgaon New Delhi NCR all run midweek at ₹8082-₹10460 during this fortnight against a March rate of ₹11411-₹14263 and an October rate of ₹14263-₹18067.
Five-star Cyber City is less dramatic but still soft. Trident Gurgaon and Grand Hyatt Gurgaon run at ₹14263-₹17116 midweek, roughly 15% below March and 25% below October. The Oberoi Gurgaon holds firmer at ₹20919-₹24723 because its clientele is less rate-sensitive, but even here you find package deals not visible in peak months. Book direct — the aggregator sites do not always show the softer end of the range.
Weather worth walking in
February afternoons at 22-25°C are ideal for the walking and outdoor plans that summer makes impossible. The Aravalli Biodiversity Park is genuinely beautiful with the last of the winter greenery still holding. Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is at the end of its peak season — migratory cranes and flamingos are still resident through late February, and the morning light between 7am and 9am is excellent. Damdama Lake day trips work; Neemrana and Alwar drives are comfortable both ways.
Evenings drop cool. 8-12°C after sunset means a sweater outdoors, and the rooftop bars run patio heaters that actually work at that temperature. AIR at Horizon Tower, the CyberHub rooftops, and Prankster in Sector 29 are pleasant. Pool water at five-star hotels sits at 20-24°C and by mid-February is genuinely usable in midday sun. Unheated pools at three-star hotels are borderline — technically open, but nobody swims in them until March.
What is actually happening in the city
Kingdom of Dreams runs a full schedule. The malls run their winter clearance sales through the second week (Ambience, DLF CyberHub, Ambience Vasant Kunj — good for actual bargains on Indian brands like FabIndia, Anita Dongre, W). The India Art Fair happens in Delhi in early February (usually 5-9 February 2026), which brings a small international art crowd through the city — worth timing for if you are interested. The Delhi Auto Expo runs biennially in mid-February.
Standalone restaurant events pick up: food festivals at hotel restaurants, wine dinners at Comorin, Bengali cuisine pop-ups at ITC properties, and the second half of the month sees the Delhi-NCR restaurant week that draws in Gurugram venues. This is a better food month than most people realise. Book two or three hotel restaurant evenings — the chefs are less banquet-loaded than in November-December and the à la carte kitchens run properly.
The rate map, week by week
Indicative February 2026 rates for a four-star like Hilton Gurugram Baani City Centre or Radisson Gurugram Sohna Road City Center, king room, midweek: 2-6 February ₹9984-₹11886 (post-wedding hangover), 9-13 February ₹10935-₹12837 (Valentine's build-up), 14-15 February ₹17116-₹20919 (Valentine's weekend), 16-20 February ₹8082-₹9984 (the trough), 23-27 February ₹8558-₹10460 (still soft), 28 February onward ₹10460-₹12361 (year-end business travel starts).
For five-star, add roughly 60%. For three-star business, subtract roughly 45%. The best three individual nights of the year for four-star value are Tuesday 17, Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 February 2026. If you can arrive Sunday 15 and leave Saturday 21, you get six nights at the year's lowest four-star average, with weather 4-6°C cooler than April and 8-10°C warmer than mid-January.
Who this month is really for
Two traveller types get the most out of February. First, the value-hunter who wants a comfortable four-star at three-star money and does not care about festivals or peak experiences. The rate arbitrage against March and October is real, the weather is good, and the city is unusually quiet. Book Hilton Gurugram Baani City Centre or DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Gurgaon New Delhi NCR for a week, work from the room in the morning, sightsee in the afternoon.
Second, the walker and birdwatcher. February is your last chance for Sultanpur migratory birds, comfortable Aravalli walks, and the Neemrana day trip in shirtsleeves. By 10 March the shoulder is more crowded because everyone else has figured out the March window. February skips that competition. The only mismatch is if you want festival energy — this month has none, which is precisely why the rooms are cheap.
Before you book
The questions people ask about Gurugram, answered with this month’s numbers.
At five-star heated pools, no — water sits at 22-26°C from mid-February onward, comfortable in midday sun. Trident Gurgaon, The Oberoi Gurgaon, Grand Hyatt Gurgaon and The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences all heat year-round. Unheated pools at three-star hotels are borderline — the water is 16-20°C and most guests do not use them until March.
Fog persists through the first week (roughly 1-8 February) with 20-30% morning fog probability, then drops sharply. From 10 February onward, morning fog is rare and flight disruptions from Delhi IGI are back to normal levels. If you are booking a February flight, the second half of the month is the safer window for time-sensitive travel.
Republic Day (26 January) is in the previous month. Basant Panchami in 2026 falls on 23 January, also outside February. February 2026 has no major national holidays. Maha Shivratri is 15 February 2026 (Sunday) — a religious holiday observed by many Hindus with fasting and temple visits, but not a public holiday and daily commerce runs normally.
Yes, more so than any other month except late March. The wedding banquet load has ended, chefs are running full à la carte menus, and many hotels run food festivals and wine dinners through the month. Book at Megu (The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences), Threesixtyone (The Oberoi Gurgaon), or the ITC dining rooms — you will get better attention than in November-December.
