If you are coming in May or June, filter hard for a temperature-controlled or indoor pool, because an unshaded rooftop pool at 2pm is genuinely unusable.

Location shapes everything. Hotels along Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension Road give you quick access to Cyber Hub, Sector 54 Chowk and the Rapid Metro, and the drive from IGI Airport via the NH-48 is roughly 30-45 minutes outside peak hours. Sector 29 near the Leisure Valley is closer to the older city and the Huda City Centre metro terminus. Decide what you are in Gurugram for — a wedding in Sector 42, meetings in Cyber City, or a weekend with kids — then pick the pool that fits that geography.

Luxury picks: Golf Course Road and Cyber City

The five-star cluster runs from Sector 29 up through Cyber City and across Golf Course Road. Expect a nightly band of roughly ₹9,000 to ₹22,000 for a double in season, more around big wedding dates in November and December. What you are paying for is a full-length outdoor pool, usually 20-25m, often with a separate kids' pool, plus poolside dining that stays open until 10pm. Properties around Cyber City put you walking distance from the Rapid Metro and DLF Cyber Hub's restaurants, which matters if you do not want a car every evening.

If you are travelling for work and want to swim before a 9am meeting, book the Cyber City or Sector 24-25 belt over anything further south. Traffic on the Golf Course Road underpass can add 25 minutes to a 6km hop between 6pm and 8pm. For a weekend, Golf Course Extension Road properties feel calmer, with newer pools and less road noise. I would book the Cyber City cluster for a Monday-Friday business trip and the Extension Road for a Friday-Sunday leisure stay.

Mid-range and family-friendly: Sector 29 and Sohna Road

Between ₹4,500 and ₹8,500 a night, Sector 29 and Sohna Road give you the best value for a pool you will actually use. Sector 29 is walking distance to Leisure Valley Park and the Huda City Centre metro, so you can leave the car. Aerocity proper sits in Delhi, but the Gurugram side is cheaper and the drive to Terminal 3 is 15-25 minutes. Pool hours are typically 6am-9pm and towels are sometimes charged, so confirm at check-in.

What I would skip: any listing that shows only wide-angle pool photos with no timings or size, and rooftop pools at budget properties in May and June — they are heat traps by 11am. Also skip properties more than 3km from a metro station if you are not renting a car, because autos to Golf Course Road during office hours are slow and metered rides add up.
