There are roughly 45 auspicious wedding dates between November 1 and February 28, and each one adds ₹5705-₹11411 a night to every four- and five-star within 20km of Cyber City — here is how to book around them.
Why Gurugram wedding season is different from anywhere else
Delhi-NCR is the largest wedding market in India, and Gurugram is where the money goes because the banquet lawns, the five-star ballrooms and the farmhouse venues on the Delhi-Jaipur highway are concentrated here. In a typical late-November week, a single five-star can host three separate weddings across its lawns and ballrooms, book out 180 of its 250 rooms to the wedding parties, and quote the remaining 70 rooms at rates 60-80% above the shoulder-season number. Which hotels get hit hardest, and which barely notice
The five-stars with large banquet lawns and multiple ballrooms — the ones on Golf Course Road, the two on NH-48 near Rajokri, the big convention-scale properties in Sector 29 — take the biggest price hits because they host the weddings themselves. Rooms sell to the visiting wedding parties at group rates, and the residual rooms sold to random travellers on OTAs get the surge pricing. If you can see the words 'wedding venue' or 'destination wedding' on a hotel's own website, expect ₹7607-₹13312 nightly premiums on muhurat dates and effective sellouts on the biggest ones.
The city-hotel four-stars in Cyber City and along MG Road — the ones without significant banquet infrastructure — see much smaller premiums, maybe ₹2377-₹3804 above shoulder rates. A Wednesday between two muhurat clusters — say a random mid-November Wednesday — comes in at ₹20919-₹22821. A Sunday in a heavy cluster hits ₹31379. So the choice is not between wedding season and non-wedding season; it is between wedding-week Saturdays and mid-week nights, which run 30-45% cheaper for the same property. A four-night stay planned across Tuesday to Friday of a heavy wedding week can cost ₹24723 less than the same stay across Thursday to Sunday.
The really steep saving is moving out of the wedding-magnet hotels entirely. What is actually open and running better in wedding season
The temperature is the reason weddings cluster here — November through February is the only stretch of the year when Gurugram is genuinely comfortable, with daytime highs of 20-26°C in December and cool evenings for outdoor events. This is also the peak tourism window for Delhi generally, which means Sultanpur National Park is full of migratory birds (November through February is the season), Old Delhi walking tours actually work, and the drive to Neemrana or Alwar is pleasant. So the crowding is real, but the reason to be here is also real.
Restaurants and rooftop bars stay open late through this season — Sector 29 rooftops that pack up by 11pm in April run to 1am in December. The Sunday hotel brunches at ₹4754-₹7607 a head are at their fullest and best of the year. Cyber Hub is packed every evening. Golf at ITC Classic and DLF Golf and Country Club is at its peak.
