Only six hotels in Gurugram have genuine tennis courts, and only four of them let guests actually play — here is the honest ranking, court by court.
Why this list is short
Gurugram is a golf town, not a tennis town. Real estate is expensive, courts take space, and most business hotels dropped tennis in favour of extra banquet halls a decade ago. What is left is a handful of resort-style properties on the edges of the city plus two central hotels that kept their courts because guests genuinely used them. The list below is every hotel where you can actually play tennis on-property in 2026.
'Tennis on the property page' does not mean playable tennis. Two hotels I called for this piece show courts in marketing but have converted them to event lawns; another advertises 'racquet sports' and offers only badminton on a temporary floor. Everything below has been confirmed as a playable, marked, netted court in the last quarter.
1. The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa — the real one
Westin Sohna has two proper hard courts, floodlit until 9pm, in decent condition, with a pro on-site who takes bookings for lessons at around ₹3328 an hour. Court hire is included for in-house guests. This is the only Gurugram-area hotel where a genuine tennis player would choose to stay for the tennis. The setting under the Aravalli ridge is a bonus — cooler evenings, real light.
Rooms ₹17116-₹26625 depending on season. The drive from central Gurugram is 40-45 minutes on Sohna Road, longer in Friday evening traffic. Come Sunday to Thursday if you want the courts to yourself; weekend guests do occasionally play. If tennis is a hard requirement for your Gurugram trip, book here and do not think twice.
2. Heritage Village Resorts & Spa Manesar
Heritage Village has one hard court, playable, floodlit, and free for guests. Court surface is honest condition — not tournament grade but not cracked. Racquets available at reception; balls are ₹761 a can. Rooms ₹10460-₹15214, weekend rates higher. This is the budget option if you want to hit some balls without paying resort-luxury rates.
The catch is that the court is single, so if it is booked you wait. There is no pro or coaching. It is a good hotel for a family where one adult wants to play and the rest want a pool — pool and court are close, so it works as a compromise. Manesar is 25 minutes south of central Gurugram.
3. The Oberoi Gurgaon — one court, rarely used
The Oberoi has one hard court tucked into the garden side of the property. It exists, it is playable, and almost nobody uses it, which means as an in-house guest you can usually get it same-day. No coaching on-site but reception can arrange a hitting partner with a day's notice at around ₹4754 for 90 minutes. Rooms from ₹32330.
Book Oberoi for the hotel, not for the tennis; the court is a bonus rather than a reason. But if you are travelling on business and want an hour of hitting between meetings, this is the most convenient central option, because central Gurugram otherwise has no playable hotel court within a 20-minute drive.
4. ITC Grand Bharat, Manesar (nearby, worth naming)
Strictly outside the site's booking inventory but geographically part of the Gurugram tennis conversation: ITC Grand Bharat, 45 minutes south, has multiple courts and a real programme. If your search is 'tennis near Gurugram' rather than 'in Gurugram', this is the honest top pick, and most Gurugram tennis players who take the sport seriously drive there. Book direct through ITC.
Mentioned here for completeness. Everything else in this piece is bookable through the site with courts you can walk to from your room. But pretending ITC Grand Bharat does not exist would misrepresent the real regional picture, and readers deserve to know it is 45 minutes away.
5. What about the DLF and Golf Course Road hotels?
Trident, Leela, Hyatt Regency, Crowne Plaza, DoubleTree, Le Meridien — none of them have on-property tennis in 2026. Some had courts a decade ago and converted them. What they can offer is a partnership rate at a nearby residential club, usually DLF Golf & Country Club or a Sushant Lok club, at around ₹2377-₹3804 per hour of court time plus a guest access fee.
Concierge desks at these hotels will arrange it with a day's notice. Bring your own racquet — club rental gear is variable. If you are staying centrally for work and tennis is a nice-to-have rather than a must, this is the workable route, and it is often cheaper than tacking on a resort stay for the courts alone.
6. Court surface, weather and when to actually play
All Gurugram hotel courts are hard, mostly synthetic acrylic over concrete. There are no clay courts and no grass. Peak playing months are October to March; from April through June court temperatures at midday hit 55°C and the surface becomes genuinely dangerous. In monsoon (July-September) expect frequent closures for standing water, though hotels drain quickly.
Best playing windows year-round are 6.30-9am and 5.30-8pm. Floodlit courts (Westin Sohna, Heritage Village Manesar) extend evening play in winter when it gets dark by 6pm. Bring your own strings — no on-site restringing anywhere. A local racquet shop in DLF Phase 4 handles emergencies at reasonable rates.
The honest verdict
If tennis is a real priority, book two nights at Westin Sohna and accept the drive. If tennis is a bonus alongside a Gurugram business trip, take the Oberoi and use its quiet court, or arrange a club session through a Golf Course Road hotel concierge. Everything else is compromise or misrepresentation of what the city actually has.
There is no scenario in which a mid-tier Gurugram business hotel gives you real tennis on-property. Nine listings out of ten that mention 'racquet sports' mean badminton, which is fine as a sport but not what most tennis travellers are searching for. Ask the direct question when you book and expect an honest answer.

Westin Sohna and Heritage Village Manesar lend racquets at reception, ball tubes cost ₹761-₹1141. The Oberoi supplies both on request. If you play regularly, bring your own — hotel racquets are generic and often oversized. Restringing is not available on-site anywhere in Gurugram.
