What to expect at Culture Gully
Culture Gully is the covered indoor street inside Kingdom of Dreams — an entire lane themed as a fantasy Indian bazaar with a painted trompe-l’oeil sky ceiling and haveli-style facades on either side. Fourteen food stalls line the walk, each aligned to a different Indian state: Rajasthan (Chokhi Dhani-style thali), Punjab (choley bhature), Bengal (mishti and kathi rolls), Gujarat (dhokla and khandvi), Kashmir (wazwan), and so on. It is a themed food court, but a well-executed one.
The strongest stalls are the Chaat Chowk (proper Delhi-style street chaat at ₹150-₹300 a plate), the Rajasthani thali (₹700 unlimited), and the paan-and-sweets stand at the far end. Live folk performers rotate every 30 minutes on the small central stage — Rajasthani puppet shows, Punjabi bhangra, Kathak recitals. There is a full bar in the back. The ticket includes Culture Gully entry without a show, and is one of the safer sit-down evening options for families or corporate delegations wary of open street food.
The best play is to arrive at 6:30pm, eat properly at two or three stalls, catch a folk performance, and leave by 8pm — or pair with a Kingdom of Dreams musical. Weekends fill up completely between 7pm and 10pm. Air-conditioning is aggressive so bring a light layer. Cash and card both work; UPI is accepted at most stalls. The complex is a five-minute walk from IFFCO Chowk metro and next door to Sector 29 for a nightcap afterwards.
