What to expect at Leisure Valley Park

Leisure Valley is the most central of Gurugram's landscaped parks, tucked between Sector 29 and the Sheetla Mata Road. It is neither wild nor especially old, but as a green break in the middle of the mall district it works — 34 acres of lawn, palm avenues, a bandstand and one of North India's larger musical fountains. In the evenings, the park doubles as a stage for city cultural events including the annual International Gita Mahotsav.

The main axis runs from the north gate to the fountain plaza. Along it are cricket-net cages, an open-air gym with rusty but functional equipment, a rose garden that peaks in February, and an amphitheatre used for weekend concerts. The musical fountain runs at 7pm and 8pm daily, weather permitting, and pulls a family crowd. The park is watched by uniformed staff and lit well after dark, which makes it one of the few Gurugram parks that stays comfortable for solo evening walks.

Enter at Gate 3 near Sector 29 for the shortest walk to the fountain. Free yoga sessions happen every Sunday at 6:30am on the central lawn (organised by the municipal corporation — bring your own mat). There is no cafe inside but Sector 29's restaurants are a two-minute walk. Combine a morning walk here with breakfast at one of the Sector 29 courtyards, or a fountain stop before dinner at Cyber Hub.
