What to expect at Sector 29 Market
Sector 29 predates Cyber Hub by a decade and is still the more raucous of Gurugram's two food-and-drink districts. Three low-rise blocks (Grand Mall, Central Plaza and the main strip) house sixty-plus restaurants and bars, most of them mid-priced and open until well past midnight. Where Cyber Hub is corporate-polished, Sector 29 is louder, cheaper by about twenty percent, and where actual Gurugram residents come to drink on weekends.
The main draws are the brewpubs — Downtown, Manhattan, Prankster and 7 Barrel serve craft beer brewed on premises. For food, Farzi Cafe has a second outpost here, Warehouse Cafe does modern European, and the Punjabi Grill outlet is the reliable choice for a business lunch. Live music venues cluster on the west side. A small hookah-and-shisha row runs along the south edge. Bring cash for parking and cover charges.
Weekends see cover charges of ₹1,000-₹2,000 at the busier bars after 9pm, redeemable against food and drinks. Weeknights are half-empty and much easier. Park in the multi-level lot on the north edge (₹40/hour) — street parking is chaotic. The area is a ten-minute walk from Leisure Valley Park and a fifteen-minute drive from most Cyber City hotels; taxis are easy until 1am. Dress code varies by venue but jeans and a collared shirt are safe everywhere.
