About Cavelossim

The beach at Cavelossim is part of a continuous sandy shoreline that runs down to Mobor and beyond. The Sal River mouth is a natural harbour for local fishing boats, and the riverbank is lined with mangroves. Unlike the busier resorts of North Goa, Cavelossim keeps a quieter, more residential feel, with a number of hotels and guesthouses set back from the sand.

The village is well placed for exploring South Goa: the Cabo de Rama fort and the Colva and Benaulim beaches are a short drive away, and Margao, the region's main town, is the nearest railway and bus hub. The local economy still relies on fishing and farming alongside tourism, and the feast of the local church is a major annual event.
