Jaisalmer is reachable by air, rail and road. Jaisalmer Airport has limited scheduled flights, mainly from major Indian cities. The railway station is well connected to Delhi, Jaipur and Jodhpur. By road, Jaisalmer is about 285 km from Jodhpur and around 330 km from Bikaner, with regular buses and taxis from both. Once in the city, auto-rickshaws, cycle-rickshaws and taxis make getting around easy. The old city is compact and walkable. For desert excursions, taxis or organised tours are available, which matters if you stay out on Sam Road.
